The award winning superseries, Lord of the Skies returns to Telemundo Africa for a brand new season this October, 2023. This is coming three years after the premiere of Season 7.
Each 50-minute episode of season 8 will air daily on Telemundo Africa with the Season finale airing on the 31 December, 2023.
Lord of the Skies was created and written by Luis Zelkowicz, with its first season produced in April 2013 by US Telemundo Studios.
BACKGROUND STORY
The fictional drama is based on a true story of how Aurelio Casillas became one of the most powerful drug lords who is notorious for transferring drug substances to Mexico, Colombia, and the United States in the 1990s. He was known as “El Señor de Los Cielos”, meaning “The Lord of the Skies”, because he used fleets of jets to transfer drugs, which he financed through money laundering.
Casillas builds his path to the top of the narco business, infiltrates the government and spends time in a high security jail, all while maintaining his power and controlling his enemies, including new adversaries in the underground business and his own family members.
SEASON 8 PLOT
In season 8, Aurelio Casillas who supposedly died in Season 7 after an attempt on his life is very much alive and kicking. He is captured by DEA agents who are the only ones who know he’s still breathing. In enacting his plan of revenge, Aurelio establishes connections with old allies, faces new romances and uncovers family mysteries.
This isn’t the first time he’s been presumed dead. It happened between Seasons 1 and 2 too, after he had plastic surgery to change his face so that the authorities couldn’t recognise him. The difference now is that they know exactly who he is this time around and they are hiding him at the secretive Area 51 in the desert.
This makes him even more determined to exert revenge for the life and loved ones he has lost. The new season sees him embark on a mission of vengeance through which he establishes connections with old allies, faces new romances and uncovers family mysteries.
CAST
The ensemble cast includes Rafael Amaya, Carmen Aub, Iván Arana, Isabella Castillo, Alejandro López, Rubén Cortada, África Zavala and Yuri Vargas, with the special appearances of, Robinson Diaz and Salvador Pineda.

You can watch the new season on DSTV channel 118 and GOTV channel 14 from Monday, (2 October, 2023) by 21:00WAT/22:00CAT. The episodes will be made available afterwards on Universal+.
